This was a very fun assignment to be the lead on: McDonald's ask us to come up with a special box for the Smurf's II Happy Meal toy collection that could be given as gifts to Sony movie studio executives. One of the key elements in the Smurf's II movie plot was a large Book of Spells. That inspired the idea for this unique display case. The book was held shut with a velcro strap, and the tops could be removed to access the toys. Only about 50 of these handmade boxes were produced.
